Our 2024 charities have been selected.  All net proceeds from our sale will go to these organizations.

Deerfield Free Store hosts 10 appointments weekly for newly arrived Refugees and Asylum Seekers that have recently moved into apartments.  To date 882 households from 24 countries have received a boost from DFS thanks to the generosity of donors providing needed essentials. Rummage Sale funds allow us to buy essentials that have not been donated.

Highwood Library Essentials Pantry

Highwood Library and Community Center is experiencing an increased request for food assistance from its patrons. St. James is working to provide food pantry assistance, and the Library is opening an Essentials Pantry where patrons can come for no-cost shopping for laundry supplies, toilet paper and hygiene products. These Highwood residents do not have transportation and the prices at the local Walgreens are beyond their means. Our money would be used to stock/restock the Essentials Pantry.

End Permanent Punishment

Originally started under the name “Fully Free”, this organization’s goal is to eliminate the more than 1800 laws in Illinois that preclude individuals with criminal records from employment, educational, and housing opportunities. The organization is run completely by justice-impacted individuals and has been successful in passing legislation to enable individuals to act as legal guardians.

YouthBuild is an organization in North Chicago that works with underserved youth to help them get their GED and teach them skills that will enable them to become gainfully employed. It has successfully provided training for hundreds of young people in Lake County.

The organization's goal is to protect and preserve all bird species through youth-led bird conservation. They do this by building bird sanctuaries and raising awareness about avian conservation.
