2023 Charities
The following six local-area nonprofit organizations have been selected to receive the net proceeds from the 2023 NSUC Rummage Sale:

This pro bono legal aid clinic has helped more than 600 people in Waukegan, North Chicago, and Zion expunge and seal their criminal records.
Deerfield Free Store
Each Sunday, the Deerfield Free Store provides a range of goods - including clothing, home furnishings, and cleaning supplies - at no cost to pre-approved refugee families.
The Harbour
The Harbour provides shelter, food, educational assistance, and other critical services to homeless female and female-identifying youth in the northern Chicagoland area.
Mitchell Museum of the American Indian
NSUC funds will go toward sponsoring a free-admission day and providing docent-led visits to Lake and Cook County schools that no longer have a field trip budget.
Reading Power
Reading Power has delivered one-on-one tutoring to more than 4,500 children at risk for reading failure in North Chicago, Waukegan, and Zion (expanding into schools in Wheeling and Palatine next year).
RefugeeONE
NSUC is currently co-sponsoring a family through this Chicago-based organization, which provides extensive resettlement and immigration assistance to refugees.
